In April 2027, Brit will release her most personal project to date: Flowers From Heaven, a 12-song album written in the wake of losing Virgil to a spearfishing accident. The album includes the final co-write with Virgil that came from a half-finished song sent to her that she discovered in her earlier text messages with him. This collection of songs allows Drozda to confront her grief, share the pain, and connect with her listeners who know what it’s like to watch someone grieve or live through it themselves. Scott Jacoby’s talents as a producer also shine through in this beautiful album, where he allows for intimate, vulnerable moments to come through, as well as sweeping, anthemic sounds to move the listener.

About Brit Drozda

Brit Drozda an expressive artist with soulful vocals and vulnerable storytelling woven into her original music. Based in Palm Beach, Florida, her sound lives somewhere between pop and folk-rock, rooted in melody and lyrics that reflect on the human condition and human connection. She is often likened to her influences, Brandi Carlile, Norah Jones and Florence and the Machine.

When Virgil and Brit were reunited at Davidson College, they fell back into their collaborative creative pursuits and Brit began to sing lead for Virgil’s band Milo. During this time, Brit attended Berklee College of Music for a summer semester in 2007 and began to explore songwriting in more depth.

After graduating from Davidson College with an English degree with a minor in music, Brit moved to Charlotte, NC, where she put out her first solo album in 2008. Missing the fun creative rhythm of performing alongside her brother, she and Virgil came back together to form The Prices, touring their synth-pop original songs from their EP The Awesomeness across the country.

For Brit, songwriting has always been the most honest way she knows how to express herself, and this album is no different. She looks forward to connecting with you through these new songs.

Brit began playing classical piano in early childhood and found her vocal pipes from belting out Broadway show tunes and singing along with her favorite 90s heroes Sheryl Crow, Alannis Morissette, and the Wallflowers.

In high school, Brit and her brother began to write songs. Brit’s love of singing allowed her to take over writing melodies and lyrics while Virgil, who was better versed in rock music, came up with the music. When Virgil went to college, Brit was left to her own devices and began writing songs on her own. Her first song was written for her grandfather before he passed away. She found it was the truest form of communication and that she was able to impart something deeper and more impactful to her grandfather about his significance in her life.

After a brief hiatus from music and a dip into the culinary arts, motherhood pulled Drozda back toward music in 2014 and gave rise to Let Me Hang the Moon. Drozda met friend and producer Jason Scavone of the Noises 10 who helped bring her music to life. As Brit continued to hone her voice and draw from human connection for inspiration, she wrote and recorded her full length album Make Something Beautiful. “Ribbon (Someone So Enchanting)” from this album appeared as the theme for the podcast What We Wore, by Laura VinRoot Poole of Capitol. Her songs “Breathing” and “Sunrise” were featured in the sports documentary Valiant.

In 2019, a collaboration with New York-based producer Scott Jacoby, whose credits include Coldplay, Vampire Weekend, and Sia, took her sound in a fresh direction. That partnership produced Seashells & Stories, an EP where acoustic warmth meets electronic texture, and where her voice and storytelling take the lead.
